ACRL Washington State Chapter Board Position Description:
Vice President / President-Elect



Requirements

The Vice President must be an ALA/ACRL member and a member of the Washington State Chapter of ACRL.


Term

The Vice President will serve a one-year term, which begins July 1. After the one-year term is complete, the Vice President will assume the Presidency. In the event of resignation or inability to serve out the term of President, the Vice President will be appointed to the Presidency, assuming the office early and completing the partial term as well as his/her own term as President. (A vacancy in the office of vice-president/president-elect shall be filled by election.)


Duties

  • The Vice President shall serve as a voting member on the Board of Directors.
  • Serve as Chapter Program Chair responsible for planning the fall program for the following calendar year (as President). If the meeting is in Oregon, the Vice President need only offer assistance or support to the Oregon group. However, the Vice President must ensure that conference information and a registration form is made available through the Chapter web site and/or the Chapter newsletter, and announced via the Chapter email list.


Deadlines

November: Submit a budget request to the National Organization. (See ACRL Guide to Policies and Procedures for the form and the deadline for that fiscal year.)
