Tried & True or Shiny & New?

Our theme for 2017 is "Tried & True or Shiny & New?" We will consider the ways in which the tension between innovation and tradition is present in our professional lives. How do we address that tension? Is there an inherent conflict between our roles as librarians in the past, and our roles in the present and going into the future? Some questions which might be raised or answered at this conference may include: what can be lost by refusing to change? What can be gained by preserving established practices? Are there areas of our work which require constant transformation or are in need of meticulous constancy?
